(By Fang Cheng, Military News Agency, March 5, 2014, YILAN) Today, Navy Command hosted the ceremony of mast installation of High Performance Prototype Warship Construction Project, which symbolized the autonomous shipbuilding of MND moving forward. In order to defend our territorial waters security, the operation will be monitored under strict control and supervision to complete launching and delivery of vessel.

The ceremony was held at Lung Teh Shipbuilding Company in the morning and was hosted by Lieutenant General Pu Ze-Chun, the vice commander of Navy, and Mr. Huang Shou-Zhen, the chairman of Lung Teh Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. The relevant staff directors of Zhongshan Institute of Science and Navy Command were also attending the ceremony.

Vice commander Pu delivered speech and said that the Navy follow the policy guidance of autonomous defense and adopt the method of national vessel made by state. By strengthening the military sea battle and improving the overall defense combat efficiency, planning to build high mobility, strong combat power, long range of attack missile and a large load of high-performance warships.

Vice commander Pu special thanks to contractor crew for their efforts. He expected both sides of supervision team can keep close contact to strengthen project management and to develop a collective wisdom for achieving the warship building.

Mr. Huang Shou-Zhen, the chairman of Lung Teh Shipbuilding Company said, thanks to the different levels of naval officer for support and the most effective supervision. He emphasized that the staff will do their best to complete the system integration project in the future such as deliver on schedule to Navy.

The project of Naval "High Performance Prototype Warship" was built in May 4, 2012, in accordance with the Government Procurement Act, and signed a contract with Lung Teh Shipbuilding Company to perform the construction stage. That very same year, the construction started on November 4. Up to now, we have completed the installation of keel and mast according to the contract, which symbolized shipbuilding operation have moved on to an important stage and will continue to execute various lead-time control in the future.
